Astronomical science education degree - What does a heliologist study ? A heliologist would be a someone who studies the Sun. The astronomical analyse of our sun. The study of the Stars and etc. are generally named after Greek gods while the planets themselves are generally named after Roman gods. The sun itself isn't nominated after anyone, but heliology is referred to Helios, the Greek god of the sun. The word heliology isn't in usual usage today, while you do still find it around in some books.
